Beatriz Dujovne is a wonderful writer—observing her surroundings, others and herself very closely and in beautiful detail. It is a real privilege to be allowed into her mental space and into the therapy space she shared with Dr. Novelli, learning firsthand from her about grieving and about living, about being alone and being with another, and about learning to enjoy both those possibilities. Her writing has a lovely flow of associations, observations and narration. We feel gently taken along to historic places in Buenos Aires that have special significance for her where we meet people that she is getting to know while learning about herself. This is a book that will be a great help and consolation to those people who are grieving the loss of a loved one. By that I mean that this book will be a great help to everyone, since we all have or will lose someone we love deeply.
